About Me

Adeola Opeyemi has a BA in English Language from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, UK.
A 2020 Miles Morland Foundation scholar, she was the Associate Editor of Afridiaspora, a pan-African literary magazine from 2015 till 2018. She was also the fiction editor of Sankofa Magazine and the defunct publishing firm, WriteHouse Collectives.
In 2015, she was shortlisted for the Writivism Prize for Short Story and received an honourable mention. From 2017 to 2019, she volunteered as a mentor in the Writivism Mentoring Program sponsored by the Centre for African Cultural Excellence. This program is aimed at mentoring young and emerging fiction writers.
In 2016, she co-curated and edited My Africa, My City (an anthology of writings about African cities). In 2017, she co-edited Obibinii Te Ase (an anthology of new writings from Ghana).
